We would like many 4th grade classes throughout the state to contribute to our site, but there are some things that the teacher must do to make it possible. If you are already familiar with wikis then this is no problem for you, just request membership and I will accept you and then you can begin adding information about your county.
If you are not yet familiar with wikis no problem, I can help. You can also watch a tutorial at ......... Request membership to the wiki. Once I have confirmed your membership you can get started.
To add content to the wiki go to the page that you would like to contribute to. Press the edit button on the right hand side and you may begin to add text to the page. You can change font and and add bullets at the top. We would love to see links and files if you would like to share. To share links, simply click on the link icon at the top. This will allow you to add a link. If you would like to add files, including pictures click on file and then you can upload anything that you have saved on your computer. When you are finished typing and adding links and files, press the save button and your information will be a part of the wiki.
Please be respectful of what other people have added to the site. This really should be a medium for 4th graders to express what is in their county and what they want other 4th graders to know, but it would also be nice if it had something to do with the 4th grade curriculum. Feel free to add things such as whether you live in a desert, forest, or near a wetland. Perhaps something could be said about what region you live in and whether there have been any fossils found there. So, teacher inspired and 4th grader produced, is the goal. Thanks so much for helping with this project. Please come back to see what is added from around the state.
